FEMA declared disaster tables for counties was modified to create a geospatial data layer attributing disaster numbers, types and years to each county in the state of California. The data table is available through the FEMA website: https://www.fema.gov/data-visualization/disaster-declarations-states-and-countiesDisaster types were grouped under 5 categories:1. Flood (includes dam/levee break, tsunami)2. Fire3. Earthquake (although it’s not a lot, these first three are also consistent with the State Hazard Mitigation Plan’s 3 main statewide hazards). 4. Severe Weather (includes freezing, drought, coastal storm, hurricane, severe storm)5.
